At Angkor Bodhi Tree Retreat and Yoga Centre, we offer meditation, yoga, accommodation and holistic & healing therapies.
This is the perfect environment for those at the beginning of their spiritual journey, anyone wanting to find peace or just simply wanting to escape the daily grind.
We are situated in the heart and soul of this ancient Kingdom of Wonder: Siem Reap, Cambodia. This city is one of the most sought after travel destinations in the world, famed for its ancient and majestic temples. Walk in the same footsteps as the wise souls who have walked this path for the last 1500 years. There is an energy here that cannot be experienced anywhere else
The Centre is owned and managed by Bob and Claire Carroll, from Australia. We came to live in Siem Reap over 4 years ago to support the Cambodian community, and to also explore the spiritual essence of Buddhism within Cambodia. We would like to share that learnt knowledge and our experiences with you.
A BIG WELCOME TO STEPHEN & MARGO
We at Angkor Bodhi Tree Retreat and Yoga Centre, would like to introduce you to husband and wife team Stephen and Margo who will be managing the retreat while Bob and I take a well deserved break.
Stephen and Margo are great friends of ours, and have been coming to Cambodia regularly for the past 5 years. They have a great passion for Siem Reap and the Khmer people, and also have a keen interest in Buddhism. They attempt to live a lifestyle in line with these beliefs. Margo and Stephen have just returned from an amazing 12 months travel around Australia in a small campervan, and have decided to continue this little adventure by covering for us while we are away.
Stephen had a special experience by being ordained as a monk in 2013 during the Vesak Buja celebrations (Buddha’s birthday) at the Wat Angkor Pagoda in the grounds of the Angkor Wat temple. He has worked as a Clinical Psychologist over the past 25 years in a number of clinical settings and has had a particular interest in meditation and mindfulness practices with many years of personal practice using a variety of meditation techniques. He has also taught meditation in both one on one, and group environments, including the use of mindfulness and breathing techniques (pranayama) as a therapeutic tool in his work.
Margo has been working in the welfare sector for over 30 years, and as a Clinical Social Worker for the past 15 years. Margo uses Narrative Therapy that focuses on people’s stories and their interpretation of these stories. She works creatively with people to re author their stories to help them live a more rich and fulfilling life, particularly with a spiritual focus; she has a particular passion and skill for working with woman and young people. Margo also uses mindfulness practices in her life personally and with her clients.
We welcome Stephen and Margo who will be a part of our Angkor Bodhi Tree family, from April 2015.
